Islamabad: Federal Minister for National Food Security and Research, Rana Tanveer Hussain, attended the King Salman Relief Shelter event as the Chief Guest, highlighting the enduring partnership between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia in humanitarian aid and development.

According to a statement by Press Information Department, the Minister expressed gratitude to the Saudi government and King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KS Relief) for their support in providing relief assistance to Pakistan. He noted that Saudi Arabia has been instrumental in advancing Pakistan’s agricultural development through modern farming techniques, irrigation systems, and food security initiatives.

During the event, KS Relief distributed essential relief items and winter kits to individuals in need. The Minister praised KS Relief’s ongoing efforts in addressing natural disasters, poverty, and food insecurity, emphasizing the positive impact of Saudi investment in Pakistan’s agriculture sector.

KS Relief’s work extends beyond immediate relief, also contributing to healthcare, education, and economic stability in Pakistan.

In 2023, KS Relief provided over 110 million meals globally, with a significant portion allocated to Pakistan. This initiative underscores Saudi Arabia’s commitment to combating hunger and enhancing global humanitarian efforts.
