Saudia Airlines Achieves Eleventh Consecutive IOSA Registration Under New Framework

KARACHI: Saudia Airlines has successfully renewed its IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) registration for the eleventh consecutive time, marking a significant milestone in the airline’s commitment to operational safety and quality. The renewal was achieved under the newly introduced Risk-Based IATA Operational Safety Audit (RBI) framework, which emphasizes a more predictive and customized approach to safety oversight.

This renewal highlights Saudia’s adherence to high safety standards and performance. It was the airline’s first audit under the RBI framework, which focuses on airline-specific risk profiles and performance data, allowing for a more targeted assessment of safety practices.

The IOSA program is a globally recognized safety evaluation that reviews an airline’s operational management and control systems. Under the RBI framework, the audit process has evolved to enhance oversight by leveraging performance data and focusing on airline-specific safety priorities.

The audit process for Saudia encompassed eight key domains, including Organization Management, Aviation Security, Flight Operations, Flight Dispatch, In-Flight Services, Maintenance Management, Ground Operations, and Cargo Operations. This comprehensive evaluation underscores the airline’s robust operational systems and adherence to international safety standards.

Capt. Mohamed Dahduli, Vice President of Safety, Aviation Security and Quality at Saudia, commented on the achievement, stating that safety remains at the core of the airline’s operations. The renewal reflects the strength of Saudia’s safety culture and the dedication of its teams to maintaining and exceeding global aviation standards.

As Saudia Airlines continues to expand its global presence and modernize its operations, this recognition reinforces its leadership in aviation safety and positions the airline to succeed in an increasingly competitive industry.
