Security Forces Clash with Militants in Bannu District, Resulting in Casualties

Bannu: Security forces in Pakistan conducted an operation in the Bannu District, targeting militants in the Bakka Khel area. Eight militants were killed, and seven others injured during the exchange of fire.

According to Inter Services Public Relations, the operation was intelligence-based and aimed at dismantling the presence of militants. The engagement resulted in casualties on both sides, including the death of Major Atif Khalil, a 31-year-old officer from District Sudhanuti, AJ and K. Major Khalil, who was leading his troops, was killed along with two other soldiers, Naik Azad Ullah, 36, from District Karak, and Lance Naik Ghazanfar Abbas, 35, from District Layyah.

The security forces have initiated a sanitization operation in the area to ensure the complete elimination of militant presence. The military’s commitment to combating terrorism remains steadfast, and the sacrifices of the fallen soldiers are seen as a reinforcement of this resolve.
