Islamabad: Security forces have successfully neutralized a major formation of Fitna al-Khawarij attempting to infiltrate the border in the Sambaza region of Balochistan.
According to Radio Pakistan, a decisive operation conducted between August 7 and 9 resulted in the elimination of 47 terrorists affiliated with Fitna al-Khawarij. Most of the neutralized individuals were identified as Afghan nationals.
The sources further reported that the bodies of the slain militants predominantly fell on the Afghan side of the border. Despite the passage of fifteen days, no effort was made from the Afghan side to retrieve the remains, which continued to decompose in open terrain.
Following a tribal jirga held with Afghan officials yesterday, the bodies were eventually transported using donkeys. Due to prolonged exposure to harsh sunlight and the elements, the corpses also became a source of sustenance for carnivorous wildlife.
The sources said eliminating this major formation of the Fitna al-Khawarij before they could carry out any terrorist activity is considered a significant success for the security and intelligence agencies.
