Tirah: Security forces conducted a targeted operation in Tirah, Khyber District, resulting in the neutralization of a key militant leader and several associates. The operation, carried out on January 17, 2025, was based on intelligence reports indicating the presence of khwarij in the area.
According to a statement by Inter Services Public Relations, the operation effectively engaged the militants, leading to the deaths of five individuals, including the ring leader known as Abidullah, alias Turab. Additionally, one militant was apprehended during the operation.
Authorities reported the recovery of weapons and ammunition from the site. The khwarij had been active in numerous attacks against security forces and civilians in the region.
A follow-up sanitization operation is underway to ensure the complete elimination of remaining militants in the area. The security forces of Pakistan reaffirmed their commitment to eradicating terrorism from the country.
