Security Forces Repel Attack in Bannu District, Resulting in 12 Fatalities

Bannu: Security forces thwarted an attack by Khwarij militants in the MaliKhel area of Bannu District, leading to the death of six attackers and the loss of twelve security personnel.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the attackers attempted to breach a Joint Check Post but were stopped by troops. This led the militants to detonate an explosive-laden vehicle against the post’s perimeter wall. The explosion caused significant damage, resulting in the deaths of ten soldiers and two Frontier Constabulary members.

In the aftermath of the attack, a sanitization operation is underway. ISPR emphasized the commitment of security forces and law enforcement agencies to eradicating terrorism and stated that those responsible for the attack will face justice. The statement highlighted that the sacrifices of the fallen personnel reinforce the resolve to combat terrorism.
