Security Papers Limited Reports Strong Fiscal Year Performance

Karachi: Security Papers Limited (SPL) has released its Annual Report, detailing significant growth in financial performance for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2024. The company reported a record high in both revenue and profits, with total income reaching Rs 1,528.25 million, a notable increase from the previous year.

The financial statements for SPL showed robust growth with sales revenue soaring to Rs 7,312 million from Rs 5,795 million the previous year. The increase was largely driven by enhanced production and sales of banknote and other security papers. According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the company’s gross profit also rose to Rs 2,047.29 million up from Rs 1,518.29 million in 2023, reflecting a gross profit margin improvement.

Operational highlights included the production of 4,104 tons of security paper, maintaining optimal levels to meet strong market demand. This was complemented by strategic expansions in product lines and prudent management of raw material costs despite inflationary pressures.

Further, SPL’s commitment to corporate governance and sustainability was evident in its operations. The company transferred Rs 788.77 million to revenue reserves, demonstrating a strong reinvestment in its growth and stability. Moreover, the Board of Directors recommended a generous final cash dividend of Rs 12.50 per share, totaling a 125% payout ratio.

On governance, SPL underwent significant board changes, including new appointments and the resignation of a director, reflecting its ongoing efforts to align with corporate governance best practices. The company also continued to prioritize environmental, social, and governance (ESG) factors, contributing significantly to health and educational projects and advancing its sustainability initiatives.

Looking ahead, SPL is preparing for future challenges with a focus on innovation and cost management to sustain its growth trajectory in an increasingly complex economic environment.
