Security Plan Underway to Safeguard Oil and Gas Exploration in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: Ali

Islamabad: Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervaiz Malik has announced that a comprehensive security plan is being developed to protect oil and gas exploration activities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He made this statement during a meeting with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Energy Minister Nazir Ahmed Abbasi in Islamabad.

According to Radio Pakistan, Ali Pervaiz Malik highlighted that gas supply is currently under strain due to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East. He emphasized that distribution arrangements will be revisited once the geopolitical situation stabilizes. The Minister stressed the importance of prioritizing public welfare over political interests in these challenging times.

During the meeting, Provincial Energy Minister Nazir Ahmed Abbasi assured full cooperation for the protection of exploration and production activities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He noted that increased exploration in the region would significantly enhance provincial royalty revenues. Furthermore, Abbasi pointed out that the success rate of wells in the province surpasses the global average, underscoring the potential benefits of intensified exploration efforts.

Both Federal and Provincial Ministers expressed a mutual commitment to strengthening cooperation aimed at advancing public welfare, reflecting a unified approach to addressing the challenges faced by the energy sector in the region.
