Senate Chairman Calls for Dialogue for Sustainable Peace

Islamabad: Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani has said sustainable peace can only be achieved through dialogue and diplomacy rather than confrontation. He was addressing the “Paigham-e-Islam” Conference in the city today.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Chairman highlighted Pakistan’s consistent efforts in promoting de-escalation and constructive engagement by demonstrating restraint, responsibility, and strategic prudence. He emphasized the importance of strengthening ties within the Muslim world through enhanced coordination among international forums such as the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, Arab League, and Inter-Parliamentary Union. This, he suggested, would help develop a structured and institutionalized framework for dialogue, mediation, and peaceful dispute resolution.

Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani urged the international community to move beyond divisions and work collectively towards achieving global peace, stability, and shared prosperity. He reiterated Pakistan’s readiness not only to support this cause but also to lead by example in promoting peace.
