Senate Passes Army, Air Force, Navy Amendment Bill, 2025

Islamabad: The Senate today passed Pakistan Army Amendment Bill, 2025, Pakistan Air Force Amendment Bill 2025, Pakistan Navy Amendment Bill, 2025, and the Supreme Court Practice and Procedure Amendment Bill, 2025.

According to Radio Pakistan, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar moved the Pakistan Army Amendment Bill, 2025, and the Pakistan Air Force Amendment Bill 2025 in the Senate. Minister for Defence Khawaja Muhammad Asif tabled the Pakistan Navy Amendment Bill, 2025 in the House. Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Tariq Fazal Chaudhry presented the Supreme Court Practice and Procedure Amendment Bill, 2025.

Meanwhile, the Senate was informed that the present government has established a ‘Trade Dispute Resolution Commission.’ This commission aims to provide an efficient and transparent mechanism for resolving trade disputes. Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan informed the House during the Question Hour that qualified professionals from various backgrounds have been appointed to ensure the effective functioning of the commission.

Minister of State for Finance Bilal Azhar Kayani told the House that the government is focusing on broadening the tax base. He stated that it is the government’s effort to ensure an equitable tax system where all sectors contribute their share. The House has been prorogued.
