Senate Passes Six Bills, Refers Fatima University Bill to Committee

Islamabad: The Senate resumed its session at the Parliament House in Islamabad this evening with Chairman Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani presiding over the proceedings. The legislative body successfully passed six bills during the session.

According to Radio Pakistan, the bills passed include ‘The Public Procurement Regulatory Authority (Amendment) Bill, 2023’, ‘The Pakistan Council for Science and Technology (Amendment) Bill, 2023’, ‘The Criminal Laws (Amendment) Bill, 2024’, ‘The Higher Education Commission (Amendment) Bill, 2024’, ‘The Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal (Amendment) Bill, 2024’, and ‘The Islamabad Capital Territory Prohibition on Employment of Children Bill, 2022’.

In addition to the passage of these bills, ‘The Fatima University of Science and Technology Bill, 2025’ was introduced in the House. The bill has been referred to the standing committee concerned for further deliberation and review.
