Sharjeel Warns Transporters Against Unauthorized Fare Hikes

Karachi: Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon has warned that strict legal action will be taken against transporters who raise fares without government approval. Chairing a meeting in Karachi, he took notice of the increase in public transport fares and directed the Secretary Transport to review the fares and determine appropriate and balanced rates if necessary.

According to Radio Pakistan, Sharjeel Inam Memon made it clear that only the government and the Transport Department have the authority to approve any increase in fares. He emphasized the government’s commitment to providing relief to the people and stated that no one will be allowed to exploit the public.
