Islamabad:The State of Palestine has underscored Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s remarks on the loss of young lives in Gaza, emphasizing these on its social media platform.
According to Radio Pakistan, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif aimed to draw global attention to the suffering endured by Palestinian women, children, and the elderly. His speech highlighted the tragic deaths of Palestinian children Hind Rajab and Wafa Aqila, which he described as a significant focus of his address.
Prime Minister Sharif questioned the international community about the children’s right to life, a better future, and the fulfillment of their dreams. He mentioned that Palestinians, especially women, children, and the elderly, have faced ongoing hardships such as occupation and displacement.
He recalled recounting the story of Hind Rajab, a young Palestinian girl shot by Israeli soldiers, and highlighted the recent tragedy of eight-year-old Wafa Aqila, whose first day of school tragically became her last day alive.
Sharif expressed concern over whether children in Gaza have the same rights as those elsewhere. He concluded that the tragedies of children like Hind Rajab and Wafa Aqila serve as a stark reminder of the global community’s silence and inaction.
