Shiv Sena Urges End to LG Rule, Seeks Restoration of Statehood in Jammu and Kashmir

Jammu: The Shiv Sena’s unit in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir has demanded the termination of the Lieutenant Governor’s rule and the reinstatement of statehood for the region. The party also insists that the police force should operate under the jurisdiction of the territory’s government with full accountability.

According to a statement by Kashmir Media Service, Shiv Sena IIOJK chief Manish Sahni voiced his concerns during a program at the party’s central office in Jammu. He criticized the existing dual power structure, emphasizing its adverse effects on the Jammu region.

Sahni, in a prior video interview, expressed that the revocation of Article 370 by the Modi regime was an erroneous move. He stated, “I have been fighting for the return of my state, my Articles 370 and 35A.”

He further highlighted the increase in pro-freedom activities in Jammu, noting that eight out of ten districts experienced attacks in 2024, challenging the Modi regime’s assertions of normalcy following the 2019 revocation of Article 370.
