Sibi Deputy Commissioner Launches Extensive Anti-Polio Campaign

Sibi, Deputy Commissioner Jahanzeb Sheikh presided over a meeting to finalize preparations for a comprehensive five-day anti-polio campaign scheduled to begin on June 3. The campaign, aimed at eradicating polio from the region, will deploy extensive resources including 219 mobile teams, 22 transit points, and 48 fixed vaccination sites across the district.

According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, the meeting was attended by Assistant Commissioner Sibi Jarullah Khan, Deputy DHO Dr. Qadir Haroon, and representatives from the World Health Organization among others. NA Staff Officer provided a detailed briefing on the campaign strategies and reviewed data from previous efforts, setting a robust groundwork for the upcoming drive.

Deputy Commissioner Sheikh emphasized the critical role of the health department’s teams in ensuring the success of the campaign and urged district officers to diligently monitor the operations. He also called on parents to cooperate fully with the vaccination teams visiting their homes to administer polio drops to children, highlighting the importance of community involvement in achieving a polio-free status. Sheikh asserted that no compromise would be tolerated in efforts to secure a healthier future for the children of Sibi, underscoring their vital role in fostering a healthy society.
