SIFC’s Support Boosts Pakistani Sesame Seed Exports

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistani agriculture sector is experiencing increased stability, attributed to the efforts of the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC). This support has notably impacted the country’s sesame seed industry, elevating Pakistan’s position on the global stage.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the Ministry of Commerce has been instrumental in promoting Pakistani sesame seeds in international markets through collaboration with SIFC. This initiative has led to a 366 percent increase in sesame seed exports, with annual revenues now exceeding one billion dollars. As a result, Pakistan has become the third-largest exporter of sesame seeds worldwide.

The advancement in sesame processing technologies is anticipated to further enhance the production of high-quality sesame products, contributing to the sector’s continued growth and stability.
