Karachi: Sindh Interior Minister Zia-ul-Hassan Linjar announced at a press conference held at the Central Police Office Karachi the arrest of terrorists involved in an airport attack. The announcement highlighted the performance of the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) in this significant operation. Present at the press conference were IG Sindh Ghulam Nabi Memon, Additional IG CTD Imran Yakub Minhas, DIG CTD, and other senior officers. The Sindh Interior Minister revealed that a reward of Rs. 50 million is being recommended for the CTD team along with considerations for QPM (Quaid-e-Azam Police Medal) and PPM (President’s Police Medal) awards.
According to Sindh Police, the investigation led to the discovery of the hand, car, and remains of suicide bomber Shah Fahad. His accomplices were identified as rickshaw driver Farhan and Muhammad Sharif, with the vehicle used in the attack registered under the suicide bomber’s name. The car was purchased with money transferred from the account of Saeed Ali, amounting to Rs. 71 lakh. During the terrorist attack, a bank employee named Bilal was also involved. The investigation further revealed that the vehicle used in the suicide attack was assembled at a specific location, equipped with a chemical called RDX, and painted for the explosion.
The attacker was responsible for the death of a woman named Gul Nisa and was assisted by a person named Ricky Javed at the airport, who informed the suicide bomber about the exit of Chinese nationals from the first floor. It was reported that a terrorist named Danish, identified as a bomb-making technician, was present nearby during the blast. Additionally, a person named Rehman Gul was found to be facilitating the BLA, while Bashir Zeib, another terrorist, was orchestrating activities from abroad.
