Sindh Govt and UNIDO Collaborate for Economic Recovery in Flood-Affected Districts

Karachi: Sindh government and United Nations Industrial Development Organization have agreed to work for the ecologically sound infrastructure and economic recovery in the flood-affected districts of the province. The agreement was signed at a ceremony of the Communal Infrastructure Grant and SME Grant Award in Karachi.

According to Radio Pakistan, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah addressed the ceremony, stating that the provincial government has initiated the rehabilitation process for the flood-affectees, which includes constructing houses under the Sindh Peoples Housing for Flood Affectees. He emphasized the government’s commitment to enhancing basic infrastructure and mentioned the introduction of digital mapping at the village level to support these efforts.

Syed Murad Ali Shah also announced a five-year sustainable program aimed at poverty eradication and comprehensive development, which will be implemented with the cooperation of the European Union.
