Sindh Govt Announces Routes for Double-Decker and EV Buses

Karachi: The Sindh government has announced the routes for newly imported double-decker and electric vehicle buses, which will start operating in Karachi next month. Managing Director of the Sindh Mass Transit Authority, Kanwal Nizam Bhutto, stated that five diesel-run double-decker buses will operate on Shahrah-e-Faisal, running from Model Colony to Tower and back.

According to Radio Pakistan, each bus will be fully air-conditioned and can carry between 115 and 120 passengers. Additionally, 34 electric buses will be introduced on new routes across Karachi. Kanwal Nizam Bhutto mentioned that the Peoples Bus Service will be expanded to upper Sindh cities, including Hyderabad, Khairpur, Sukkur, and Shikarpur.

The Sindh government has imported a total of 39 buses from China at a cost of three billion rupees.
