Speaker of Pakistan’s National Assembly Reaffirms Bonds with Turkiye

Islamabad: The Speaker of Pakistan’s National Assembly, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, met with the Ambassador of Turkiye, Dr. Irfan Neziroglu, at the Parliament House on January 14, 2025. During the meeting, they discussed the longstanding ties between Pakistan and Turkiye, emphasizing their shared history and cultural connections.

According to a statement by National Assembly of Pakistan, Speaker Sadiq highlighted the deep-rooted relationship between the two countries, noting their shared views on regional issues such as Kashmir and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. He expressed the hope that these ties would be further strengthened through increased parliamentary engagement.

Sadiq also mentioned the role of the Pakistan-Turkiye Parliamentary Friendship Group, which he believes is crucial for enhancing parliamentary diplomacy and fostering deeper connections between the two nations.

Ambassador Neziroglu praised the Speaker’s remarks and reiterated Turkiye’s commitment to its relationship with Pakistan. He emphasized the importance of parliamentary diplomacy and expressed Turkiye’s readiness to explore new avenues for collaboration beyond existing agreements.
