Islamabad, May 10, 2013 (PPI-OT): Radio Pakistan has made elaborate arrangements to give updates to listeners about polling across the country and the election results.
Over 200 correspondents will give eye-witness account of the polling from different parts of the country. The report will highlight the impressions of voter‚ arrangements‚ law and order situation‚ and turnout.
Besides‚ information about number of candidates contesting and total number of votes will be also be shared with the listeners.
Special booth has been set up at the Election Commission that is linked with News Room and Studios of Radio Pakistan for prompt announcement election of results. Marathon transmissions on national and provincial hook-ups have been arranged on this occasion.
Marathon transmission on nation hook-up will be aired by NBS‚ FM-93‚ and FM-101 networks‚ as well as by Medium wave transmitters except FM-94. It will start at 07:10 a.m. on May 11 and continue till the announcement of last election result.
Renowned intellectuals and columnists will analyze situation from time to time. Provincial Election Marathon Transmissions being launched from Lahore‚ Karachi‚ Peshawar and Quetta. FM-93 stations and MW transmitters‚ other than NBS‚ will air on the provincial hook-ups.
The National and Provincial Marathon Transmissions will also be web-cast on PBC website through live streaming.
External Services will also carry the special transmission.
The English Channel of Radio Pakistan‚ FM-94 Islamabad and Lahore will be linked with PTV World from 08:00 a.m. on May 11 for 24 hours.
