Spillway Operation at Khanpur Dam Begins Today

Khanpur: The spillway operation at Khanpur Dam, constructed on River Haro, will commence today.

According to Radio Pakistan, the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has reported that the maximum storage capacity of the dam is 1982 feet, with the current water level reaching 1981.55 feet. The operation is expected to discharge between 6,800 to 7,500 cusecs of water. This discharge amount may be adjusted based on the prevailing hydro-meteorological conditions in the catchment area.

All departments and stakeholders concerned have been advised to remain vigilant and ensure the adoption of all requisite precautionary and safety measures.
