Steps Underway to Modernize Railways: Hanif Abbasi

Lahore: Minister for Railways Hanif Abbasi has said concrete steps are being taken to transform Pakistan Railways into a profitable organization while providing modern amenities to passengers. Speaking to the media at Lahore Railway Station, he said a comprehensive strategy has been adopted to upgrade the railway infrastructure along modern lines.

According to Radio Pakistan, Abbasi stated that trains are being upgraded to make travel more comfortable and secure. He highlighted that electric escalators are being installed at platforms, and measures are underway to maintain high standards of cleanliness and food quality.

The federal minister also noted that Pakistan Railways would play an active role in the success of the Reko Diq project to transport the country’s mineral wealth to international markets.
