Karachi: The Pakistan Stock Exchange saw significant gains as the KSE100 index rose by 500.44 points, closing at 168,990.07. The KSE30 index also experienced an upward trend, gaining 237.66 points to settle at 52,261.21. This positive movement reflects increased investor confidence.
The turnover in the regular market showed a slight decrease, with 1,573,346,286 shares traded compared to the previous count of 1,573,381,774. However, the traded value jumped to 78.67 billion from 70.20 billion.
Market capitalization saw a marginal increase, rising to 19,660.88 billion from 19,655.69 billion. The futures market displayed robust activity, with turnover climbing from 293,391,000 to 326,557,000 and the traded value increasing to 16.41 billion from 13.72 billion.
The indices reached intraday highs of 52,603.48 for KSE30 and 169,988.62 for KSE100. Meanwhile, the lows registered at 52,048.19 and 168,613.41, respectively. The KSE30 index recorded a percentage rise of 0.46, while KSE100 saw a 0.30 percent increase.
