Strategic Political and Defence Committee Convenes in Istanbul

Islamabad: The inaugural meeting of the Strategic Political and Defence Committee, established under the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement (Makkah Accord), is set to take place in Istanbul, Trkiye tomorrow.

According to Radio Pakistan, the meeting will see participation from Pakistan, represented by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Federal Minister for Defence Khawaja Muhammad Asif, and Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir. The meeting will also include the respective Foreign Ministers, Defence Ministers, and Chiefs of General Staff from Trkiye and Saudi Arabia.

Pakistan’s involvement in this meeting underscores its historic ties with Trkiye and Saudi Arabia and its commitment to fostering regional peace and stability. The gathering aims to discuss strategic political and defence collaborations as part of the Makkah Accord’s objectives.
