Islamabad: A pivotal meeting of the Committee for Digital Pakistan was convened today under the directives of Prime Minister Mohammad Shehbaz Sharif, focusing on accelerating the country’s digital transformation. Co-chaired by Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal, Minister of Finance Muhammad Aurangzeb, and State Minister for Information Technology Shaza Fatima Khawaja, the assembly addressed key strategies required to enhance Pakistan’s position in the global digital economy.

The session also highlighted the establishment of four major technology and innovation centers aimed at promoting a culture of research, development, and entrepreneurship within the country. The need for Pakistan to embrace e-commerce, artificial intelligence, and other technological trends was underscored, with particular attention given to expanding internet connectivity to remote areas and the recent launch of a satellite in collaboration with China.
