Karachi: Minister for Food Security Rana Tanveer Hussain held a meeting with Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah in Karachi today to discuss the wheat policy for the upcoming year. During the meeting, both officials focused on establishing a consensus among all provinces regarding a national wheat policy aimed at benefiting farmers.
According to Radio Pakistan, the discussion also highlighted the need to encourage farmers to increase wheat cultivation. The support price of wheat was a key topic during the meeting, as it plays a crucial role in the farmers’ decision-making process regarding crop selection.
Rana Tanveer Hussain reiterated the federal government’s commitment to facilitating farmers in their efforts to enhance wheat production. This initiative is seen as a step towards ensuring food security and boosting the agricultural sector’s contribution to the national economy.
