Islamabad: Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar has reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to further strengthening its longstanding brotherly ties with Trkiye. He was addressing a ceremony held today to mark the 10th anniversary of Trkiye’s Democracy and National Unity Day.
According to Radio Pakistan, the Minister highlighted the deep fraternal relations between Pakistan and Trkiye, which have grown stronger over time. Paying tribute to the 250 martyrs who sacrificed their lives in defence of Trkiye’s democracy, he expressed solidarity with their families and acknowledged the inspiration these sacrifices provide to nations facing challenges with courage and determination.
Attaullah Tarar noted that Trkiye has emerged as a strong economic and defence power under the leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. He mentioned his recent visit to Istanbul, where he witnessed the warmth of Pakistan-Trkiye friendship firsthand. The Minister emphasized that both countries have consistently supported each other during difficult times, with Pakistan backing Trkiye’s stance on international issues and Trkiye advocating for Pakistan on the Jammu and Kashmir dispute.
He further elaborated that the friendship between Pakistan and Trkiye is a priceless legacy passed down from previous generations, rooted in strong people-to-people ties. Tarar expressed gratitude to the Turkish leadership for its affection towards the people of Pakistan, noting that Pakistanis visiting Trkiye are always welcomed with respect and warmth. He expressed confidence that the two nations will continue to strengthen their friendship and collaborate to achieve new milestones of progress and prosperity.
