Tax collection process to be sped up: Mukesh Kumar Chawla

Karachi, August 31, 2016 (PPI-OT): Provincial Minister for Excise and Taxation Mukesh Kumar Chawla , while directing the Excise Department officers to speed up their launch regarding tax collection, has said that they should take all measures for revenue collection and not to show any negligence in this regard because the progress of the province depends upon more revenue collections. This he said while presiding over a meeting in his office on Wednesday. Secretary Excise and Taxation Abdul Rahim Shaikh and Director General E and T Shabir Ahmed Shaikh also attended the meeting.

DG E and T briefed the Minister E and T regarding tax collection and performance of the department. The minister for excise and taxation, while expressing his satisfaction over revenue collection and performance of the department, has asked the officers to improve their performance, adding that work on property survey was going on and through snap checking tax defaulters of vehicles would be apprehended. He said that the time had come that everyone should pay the tax and those who would not pay the tax, would had to face the consequences. Mukesh Kumar Chawla warned the property tax defaulters to pay their due tax. He also directed the officers concerned to work hard and provide facilities to tax payers.
