Texas Lawmaker Expresses Support for Kashmir, Advocates for Human Rights

Texas, Terry Meza, a member of the Texas House of Representatives, has vocalized support for the Kashmiri cause, affirming the United States’ dedication to human rights and the pursuit of peace and democracy globally.

According to Kashmir Media Service, during a conference organized by Friends of Kashmir International (FoKI) in Texas, Meza announced plans to introduce a resolution in the Texas House expressing solidarity with the Kashmiris. The conference featured discussions on the need for international efforts to address the Kashmir issue and was attended by key figures such as Hurriyat leader Abdul Hameed Lone, social activist Abdul Hafeez Khan, and FoKI chairperson Ghazala Habib.

Participants highlighted the ongoing challenges faced by Kashmiris in their quest for self-determination and called for the U.S. to take a more active role in mediating the conflict. The event also included cultural expressions such as poetry readings and the presentation of Texas plaques to notable advocates for the Kashmiri cause.
