Kasur: The thirty-ninth death anniversary of renowned classical singer Ustad Chhote Ghulam Ali Khan is being observed today. He was a celebrated figure in the realm of classical music and left an indelible mark on the art form.
According to Radio Pakistan, Ustad Chhote Ghulam Ali Khan was born in 1910 in a family of musicians in Kasur. He received his early training in music from his father, Mian Imam Bakhsh, who was known for his unique style of singing. From a young age, Ustad Chhote Ghulam Ali Khan mastered classical singing, excelling in genres such as Khayal, Tarana, Thumri, Dadra, and Ghazal.
In recognition of his contributions to music, the government honored him with the ‘Presidential Pride for Performance’ award in 1985. Ustad Chhote Ghulam Ali Khan passed away on this day in 1986, leaving behind a rich legacy in the world of classical music.
