Tragic Gas Leak Claims Lives of Two Workers in New Delhi

New Delhi: In a fatal incident in the Sarojini Nagar area of South West Delhi, two workers died and another was hospitalized after inhaling poisonous gas while cleaning a drain. The local police confirmed the deaths and hospitalization on Wednesday, highlighting the dangers faced by laborers in the city.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the tragedy unfolded when police were alerted to a building collapse in Pillanji village, but upon arrival, found three laborers unconscious due to toxic fumes encountered during drain cleaning near a construction site. The affected workers were promptly taken to a nearby hospital, where Ramasre and Babundra Kumar were pronounced dead. The third worker, Shrinath, is currently receiving medical treatment.

The police have conducted autopsies on the deceased and released their bodies to their families. A case has been registered at the Sarojini Nagar police station under relevant sections of the law, and an investigation is ongoing to determine the full circumstances surrounding this incident.
