Tree Plantation Programmes Vital to Cope with Climate’s Impacts

Islamabad: Chairperson of Pakistan Red Crescent Society, Ms. Farzana Naek, met with Prime Minister’s Coordinator on Climate Change, Romina Khurshid Alam, to discuss collaborative opportunities in climate change risk mitigation and environmental conservation.

According to Radio Pakistan, the meeting highlighted the urgency of climate action and the importance of collaboration among stakeholders to address climate-related challenges in the country. Both sides stressed the need for a comprehensive approach to protect communities from the impacts of climate change and to promote green initiatives.

During the discussion, the Coordinator to the Prime Minister on Climate Change emphasized the critical role of tree plantation programmes. She identified these initiatives as the most viable and effective means to mitigate the adverse effects of climate change.

The meeting concluded with both parties agreeing to strengthen cooperation and expand collaborative efforts in environmental sustainability. They focused on increasing the country’s forest cover and enhancing youth involvement in green activities.
