Turbat Completes Extensive Vaccination Campaign Targeting Twelve Diseases

Turbat: The Deputy District Health Officer of Ketch, Dr. Aziz Dashti, announced the successful completion of the Big Catch-up campaign, aimed at vaccinating children from birth to five years of age against twelve diseases. This widespread immunization effort, conducted across the district, targeted children who had previously missed vaccinations for various reasons.

According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, the campaign was executed under the auspices of the Expanded Programme on Immunization (EPI), in collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO). Dr. Dashti highlighted that the success of this campaign was due to the concerted efforts of health department officials, concerned staff, and the robust participation of parents and community members, which led to a high coverage rate among the targeted age group.

Dr. Dashti emphasized the critical role of ongoing immunization in establishing a healthy society and expressed optimism about the eradication of polio and other diseases if parents and guardians continue to engage proactively with public health initiatives. This campaign marks a significant milestone in the region’s public health efforts, ensuring the well-being of its youngest residents through comprehensive vaccination programs.
