U.S. Under Secretary of State Discusses Bilateral Cooperation in Islamabad

Islamabad: U.S. Acting Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs John Bass held key discussions with Pakistani leaders, focusing on enhancing economic and security cooperation between the two nations.

According to Embassy of the United States of America, “During his meetings with Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir, Under Secretary Bass addressed various aspects of bilateral relations, including counterterrorism efforts and regional stability.” He also acknowledged Pakistan’s role in assisting Afghan resettlement to the U.S. and congratulated Pakistan on its recent election as a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council for the 2025-2026 term, expressing the U.S. interest in close collaboration during the tenure.
