UN Chief denounces violation of UN charter

The 79th session of UN General Assembly began in New York on Tuesday, with leaders from across the world in attendance.

In his opening remarks, UN Secretary General António Guterres denounced the age of impunity in the world, trampling of international law and violation of UN charter.

The Secretary General lamented how a blind eye is turned to international human rights conventions and the decisions of international courts.
