UNSG to Appoint Special Envoy to Combat Islamophobia: Munir

New York: Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Munir Akram, has announced that the UN Secretary General will soon appoint a special envoy to spearhead efforts against Islamophobia. This appointment marks a significant step in addressing concerns related to Islamophobia on an international level.

According to Radio Pakistan, Munir Akram conveyed this message on the International Day to Combat Islamophobia. He emphasized that Pakistan, in collaboration with the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) countries, will partner with the Secretary-General and the special envoy to formulate a detailed plan of action to tackle Islamophobia effectively. This initiative reflects a concerted effort by member states to address and mitigate issues related to religious discrimination and intolerance.
