UNSG Urges US, Iran to Engage in Islamabad Talks in Good Faith

Islamabad: United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has called on the United States and Iran to participate in Islamabad Talks in good faith.

According to Radio Pakistan, during a regular briefing at UN Headquarters in New York, his spokesperson told reporters that the United Nations chief urged the parties to use the diplomatic opportunity to advance de-escalation and prevent a return to hostilities.

Antonio Guterres stressed that there was no viable alternative to a peaceful resolution of the conflict, in line with international law and the UN Charter.
