Utility Stores Corporation Will Not Be Shut Down, Assures Minister Rana Tanveer Hussain

Islamabad: Minister for Industries and Production Rana Tanveer Hussain has confirmed that there are no current plans to shut down the Utility Stores Corporation, despite ongoing considerations for its restructuring.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Minister Hussain made these remarks while meeting with a delegation from the Utility Stores Corporation, which included the Managing Director and the Secretary of Industries and Production. During the discussions, he outlined that the government is exploring various options for restructuring the corporation to increase efficiency and transparency, including the development of a new subsidy mechanism.

Minister Hussain emphasized that any decisions regarding the future of the Utility Stores Corporation would be made collaboratively, with comprehensive consultations involving employees and all relevant stakeholders. He assured that the interests of all government employees would be safeguarded, firmly stating that the government would not take unilateral action to close the corporation.
