Uzbek Foreign Minister Commends Pakistan on Islamabad MoU

Islamabad: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar received a telephone call from the Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan, Bakhtiyor Saidov today. Uzbek Foreign Minister felicitated the Deputy Prime Minister on the signing of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding. He commended the leadership of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, Deputy Prime Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar, and Chief of Defence Forces Syed Asim Munir for the constructive role in facilitating the process.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Uzbek Foreign Minister appreciated Pakistan’s efforts as a mediator and acknowledged its significant contribution to advancing international peace efforts, as well as promoting regional peace and stability. Both leaders expressed hope that the progress achieved would be carried forward in the next phase of engagement, contributing to lasting peace, stability, and prosperity in the region and beyond.

The two leaders also agreed to maintain close contact on matters of mutual interest.
