Voluntary Repatriation of Afghan PoR Card Holders to Begin Immediately

Islamabad: The process of voluntary repatriation for Afghan nationals holding Proof of Registration (PoR) cards to Afghanistan is set to commence with immediate effect. This decision is part of the ongoing implementation of the Illegal Foreign Repatriation Plan (IFRP) and was made during a high-level meeting of the Interior Ministry, which took into account security threats and the increasing strain on resources.

According to Radio Pakistan, a notification from the Interior Ministry indicates that while voluntary repatriation will start immediately, the formal repatriation and deportation process for PoR card holders is scheduled to take effect from the first day of the next month. This strategic move aims to address the challenges posed by illegal foreign nationals and manage the resource allocation more effectively.
