Watch: Camel Learns to Walk Again with Prosthetic Leg

Islamabad: A camel in Pakistan is enjoying a new lease of life after it was fitted with a prosthetic leg by an animal shelter. Cammie, as the camel is known, has become the first large animal in the country to receive an artificial leg, marking a significant milestone in veterinary care.

According to BBC, Cammie’s leg was severed by a landowner after she strayed onto his property in search of food. This unfortunate incident left Cammie unable to walk properly until the intervention of a local animal shelter, which provided her with a prosthetic leg.

Vet Dr. Babar Hussain, who was instrumental in Cammie’s rehabilitation, noted the importance of this development. The successful fitting of the prosthetic leg not only improves the quality of life for Cammie but also sets a precedent for the treatment of other large animals in similar situations.
