World Bank and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Government Address Child Stunting

Peshawar, A delegation from the World Bank, led by economist Ghazala Mansoori, met with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sardar Ali Amin Gandapur to discuss strategies to combat child stunting, a critical issue affecting regional and national development. The meeting involved comprehensive discussions on the causes, impacts, and remediation strategies needed to address stunting in the province.

According to Directorate General Information and PRs – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the discussions led to an agreement on collaborative efforts to tackle stunting, with directives issued by Chief Minister Gandapur to form a task force and develop a detailed action plan within fifteen days. The meeting highlighted the urgency of addressing environmental issues, food scarcity, and healthcare access to combat stunting. Gandapur reiterated the provincial government’s commitment to following the vision of PTI founder Imran Khan and emphasized the importance of the World Bank’s support in enhancing public service delivery to meet these challenges effectively.
