Islamabad: World Day for Glaciers and International Day of Forests were observed today. These observances brought attention to significant environmental challenges facing the planet.

According to Radio Pakistan, World Day for Glaciers underscored the urgent need to protect glaciers, which are crucial freshwater sources. These glaciers are melting rapidly due to climate change, posing a threat to water security globally.

Meanwhile, the International Day of Forests focused on the theme “Mobilizing political will.” This theme emphasized the necessity for political action and commitment to preserve and protect global forests, which play a crucial role in maintaining ecological balance and combating climate change.
