World Rural Development Day Commemorated with Global Activities

Islamabad: World Rural Development Day is being observed on Sunday.

According to Radio Pakistan, in September last year, the United Nations General Assembly unanimously passed a resolution to declare July 6 as World Rural Development Day. The resolution encourages all UN Member States, along with international and regional organizations, non-governmental organizations, and other stakeholders, to mark the day with activities that align with their national and regional circumstances.

The observance aims to highlight the importance of rural development and encourage collaborative efforts to improve the quality of life in rural areas across the globe. Various programs and initiatives are expected to focus on sustainable agriculture, education, and infrastructure development, reflecting the unique challenges and opportunities in these regions.
