Zardari Sends Lunar New Year Greetings to Xi, Vows to Bolster Ties

Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari has sent his felicitations to Chinese President Xi Jinping on the occasion of the Lunar New Year, emphasizing his commitment to fortifying the relationship between Pakistan and China.

According to a statement by Press Information Department, President Zardari conveyed his message through a letter, marking the Chinese Spring Festival and the dawn of the Year of the Snake. He reassured President Xi of Pakistan’s commitment to an “ironclad friendship,” and expressed eagerness to meet in Beijing to discuss enhancing bilateral cooperation.

In his letter, President Zardari emphasized the resilient alliance between the two nations, citing the enduring efforts of both countries’ leaderships to nurture this unique partnership. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s adherence to the ‘One China’ policy, a crucial element of its foreign policy.

President Zardari also acknowledged President Xi’s leadership in advancing the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor and appreciated China’s progress in 2024. He extended his best wishes for President Xi’s health and the prosperity of the Chinese people.
