Ziarat: Deputy Commissioner Liaqat Ali Kakar initiated a district-wide anti-polio campaign by administering vaccine drops to children at the DC office, marking the start of a critical public health effort aimed at immunizing 27,435 children against polio in Ziarat district.
According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, the campaign features a robust framework, including forty-seven mobile teams, twenty-nine fixed sites, and twelve transit teams, to ensure comprehensive coverage. Deputy Commissioner Kakar emphasized the campaign’s national importance and the collective responsibility to ensure no child is left unvaccinated. He assured that full security measures are in place for all polio teams, stating that any attempt to disrupt the vaccination effort would be met with strict action.
The initiative underscores the local government’s commitment to eradicating polio and ensuring the safety of its youngest citizens. Parents are urged to cooperate with health workers who will be visiting homes to administer the vaccine, with the goal of achieving a polio-free status for the district and safeguarding the health of future generations.
