Zubair Shaikh Confirmed as CEO of Wafi Energy, Shell’s Licensee in Pakistan

Karachi: Wafi Energy Pakistan Limited, the exclusive licensee of Shell fuel and lubricants in Pakistan, has officially confirmed Zubair Shaikh’s continuation as Chief Executive Officer. With an extensive background spanning over 19 years in the energy and financial sectors, Zubair has played a crucial role in ensuring continuity and strengthening performance following Wafi Energy Holding’s acquisition of Shell Pakistan in November 2024.

Ghassan Al Amoudi, Chairman of the Board, expressed confidence in Zubair’s leadership, citing his deep sector knowledge and ability to deliver results as key factors in driving sustained value for shareholders, customers, and partners. Under his guidance, Wafi Energy Pakistan is poised to shape its next phase of growth, aiming to become a leading energy player in the country.

Zubair’s career with Shell began in 2006, where he advanced through roles in finance, strategy, sales, and commercial leadership. He has successfully led both the lubricants and retail fuels businesses for Shell Pakistan, serving as General Manager Lubricants and General Manager Mobility. A Fellow Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan, Zubair also has experience in banking, ports and shipping, and audit and assurance.
