16 gamblers held; valuables recovered

Islamabad, September 15, 2018 (PPI-OT): Islamabad Secretariat police station raided at two gambling dens in Muslim Colony and Nurpur Shahan area and arrested 16 gamblers besides recovery of cash, mobile phone and other valuables from them, a police spokesman said. He said that SP (City) Aamir Niazi constituted a police team including SHO Secretariat police station Sub-Inspector Shabbir Ahmed, Sub-Inspector Zahid, ASI Shaukat Abbassi and others.

This team raided at two gambling dens in areas of Nur Pur Shahan and Muslim Colony and arrested 16 gamblers while stake money Rs. 7,500, mobile phones and other valuables were also recovered from them. They have been identified as Farman, Ahad, Wajid, Nauman, Sikandar Khan, Quaid Khan, Abdullah, Sheeraz, Nisar, Anjum, Basheer, Shoaib Ghaus, Adil, Rasheed, Yawar and Saddam.

Meanwhile, ASI Muhammad Shakeel arrested an accused Fahad and recovered a snatched motorbike and mobile phone from him. ASI Iftikhar nabbed Zahid and recovered 30 bore pistol from him. ASI Muhammad Saleem from Ramana police arrested Sami for having 30 litre liquor while Sub-Inspector Yar Muhammad from Tarnol police recovered 310 gram heroin from an accused Zeeshan.

Cases have been registered against these nabbed persons and further investigation is underway from them. SSP Islamabad Najeeb-ur-Rehman Bugvi has appreciated this overall performance and directed all police officials for high vigilance and effective policing in their respective areas.
