Srinagar, August 07, 2018 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, Indian troops in their fresh act of state terrorism martyred two more Kashmiri youth in Bandipora district, today. The troops killed the youth during a violent cordon and search operation at Govind in Gurez area of Bandipore district. Earlier, four Indian army men including a Major were killed in an attack on a patrolling party of the army in the area. The killed army men were identified as Major KP Rane, Havaldar Jamie Singh, Havaldar Vikramjeet and rifleman Mandeep of Indian Army’s 36 Rashtriya Rifles.

The Joint Resistance Leadership comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik in a statement in Srinagar said that the protest programme against the assault on Article 35-A of the Indian constitution would continue. The JRL said that the deferment of the hearing for a few weeks betrayed the intentions of the Indian Supreme Court that entertained mischievous petitions backed by the RSS, which had a distinctive anti-Kashmir agenda.

The Jamaat-e-Islami of occupied Kashmir in a statement made it clear that the abrogation of Article 35-A would not be acceptable to the people of Jammu and Kashmir. The Jamaat said that the communalist government of India led by Hindutva forces would never be allowed to create a Palestine-like situation in Jammu and Kashmir.

Meanwhile, complete shutdown was observed for the fourth consecutive day, today, in Shopian against the killing of six youth by the Indian forces during cordon and search operations and firing on protesters on Saturday. All shops, business establishments, schools and colleges and petrol pumps remained closed while public transport was off the road in Shopian district. Indian police arrested three boys on the allegation of stone pelting from Wanbal Rawal Pora area of Srinagar.

Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir Chairman, Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai, in a statement denounced the arrest of party leaders, Bashir Ahmed Qureshi and Omar Aadil Dar, under draconian Pubic Safety Act and their shifting to Jails in Jammu. A TeH delegation visited the residence of martyred Arif Ahmad Mir in Pahalgam.
